The story of Scripture isn’t meant to be seen from a distance.
It’s a path you walk through books full of stories — and they're meant to press on you, unsettle you, provoke something true.
It’s easy to wander off trail though. So a guide helps — one who's walked it many times, who shows you what to look for, so you can walk the path by leaning into what unsettles you rather than avoiding it.

Practice each day: be still, enter the story, record what stirs.
Then gather: discern with others.
Daily Practices
Before you hear the story, take five minutes to be quiet.
Before you can really listen, you have to show up — to be fully present.
Be still and quiet. Step away from the concerns of the day. Notice what is happening in your body and emotions. Ask the Lord to help you see the truth about where you are.
It doesn’t have to be 5 minutes, but try for it. It’s hard at first, but quickly becomes something you look forward to.
Enter the story with enough context to find your way.
Each day, a guide walks you into 1-2 chapters of Scripture — as a short written guide or a podcast, whichever fits you — with a prompt that shows you what to pay attention to along the way.
You learn to follow the movement of a story, notice the details that matter, and ask better questions of what you find.
Stay curious where the story presses.
Record what you notice going on in you. Confusion, resistance, wonder, even boredom may be an invitation. Investigate. Ask another question. Stay a little longer.
The text may be pressing against something you already believe or revealing something in your own story. You do not have to rush toward an answer. Curiosity, courage, and honest attention are part of the work.
One Honest Gathering
Bring what you recorded into honest community.
Gather without performing. Share what you noticed, questioned, resisted, or found difficult. Listen without fixing. Help one another see what cannot be seen alone — including the thread that ties this story to all the others.
Some of what the story reveals will be deeply personal. We need people who can help us stay with difficult questions, notice what we cannot see alone, and remember that understanding is not the same as having every answer.
