Stephanie Shores is passionate about helping spiritual communities become healthier, safer, and more deeply rooted in the love of God.
Through her +20 years of experience in ministry, education, counseling, and community formation, she has become convinced that when Scripture is understood within its original context, it opens people to a fuller experience of the Lord’s character and calls them into deeper love, humility, and care for others. She believes people learn, heal, and grow best in communities marked by relational safety, honesty, and meaningful connection, where individuals feel secure enough to ask deep questions, be fully known, and seek maturity together.
In her counseling work, she specializes in caring for pastors, ministry leaders, and individuals recovering from spiritual harm. At Footnote, Stephanie helps develop training, processes, and facilitated spaces that equip communities to cultivate healthier relationships and create environments where people can experience belonging, growth, and transformation together.
She is married to Nick and has the joy of knowing and supporting her four children as they are in various stages in the process of leaving the nest. In her spare time she loves watching movies and experimenting with new recipes.
Stephanie received her MDiv from Pillar Seminary and her MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. She serves as adjunct faculty member at the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling at Concordia University Irvine and is a PhD student in Counselor Education and Supervision where her dissertation explores transformative learning in relationship.
